23 Alphabetical Attributes of Salvation: Part One

1. Abomination, God's Hatred of

What do we think of when we hear the word, "abomination?" It's not widely used, and in fact avoided by most preachers.

An abomination is something that God hates. God is holy, and nothing that is abomination is pleasing to Him or brings His favor. Those things that He calls abomination are to be entirely avoided by the child of God. Also, these things are what the unsaved world relishes, partakes in, and they see nothing wrong with them.

Modern day examples are:

  • Homosexuality
  • Bestiality
  • Gay marriage
  • Teaching young children to fist sex each other
  • Teaching young children to have sex change
  • The green climate change agenda
  • Abortion
And many others.

God gives this list of abominations in His Word. These are not to be trifled with, let alone encouraged and even forced, especially on the youth.

Deuteronomy 27:15 FALSE GODS: Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

Proverbs 3:32 DISOBEDIENCE: For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.

Proverbs 6:16-19 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

There are many others, too many to list in this post. If you only pick up a King James Bible, you will find more than you thought there would be. The other powerless versions have no such verses, or they are twisted to make God a liar.

How do we avoid abominations and please God? First thing is you must be born again. God is angry with the wicked every day (Psalm 7:11), and your eternal soul is in constant danger of Hell fire (Matthew 5:22), BUT, God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son...

John 3:16, 17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

If you believe this, you will no longer want anything to do with the sinful world and Satan's evil devices. You become a new creature in Christ-- old things are passed away, and become new. You become a different person, washed in the blood of the Lamb, your soul is spiritually circumcised from your flesh (Colossians 2:11) and your name remains in the Book of Life (Revelation 3:5). (This is a separate lesson I am saving for another day. In a nutshell, that means after conception, your name was written down in the Lamb's Book of life. It is NOT written down after you get saved, because it was already in there. It remains there UNLESS you WILLFULLY and VOLUNTARILY reject God's love gift of eternal salvation provided by the supreme sacrifice of His Son, so upon your death, your name is blotted out of the Book, your soul plunges down into Hell, and there is no escape.)

You can be saved today, right this moment. You don't have to live like the world. You are a sinner, but God sent His Son to die for you and take upon Himself YOUR punishment. You can never pay your sin debt, nor will you be allowed entrance into Heaven if you are not born again. I ask you now, while you are still alive, would you please believe that Jesus Christ died FOR YOU, was buried, FOR YOU, and rose again FOR YOU?

Believe ON Jesus Christ and be SAVED. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
