23 Alphabetical Attributes of Salvation: Part Five

5. Evangelism (soul winning, tracts, etc.)

In this point I will talk about soul winning, giving out tracts, and the like. It's a truly sad and evil day when practically no one goes door to door to invite people to church and give out the Gospel. There are no doubt a few who remain faithful to this high calling, especially in other countries, but in general that practice has sadly gone the way of the dodo.

For example, I have been writing on the internet for 21 years. After I had revival in the AOL chat room, I knew God had called me to be a witness for Him on the world wide web. 

I had dreams of being a writer since early childhood. So I started sending emails to those whom I had met in the chat room, and one fine Christian lady, whom God sent through my first Christian church, really appreciated the time and effort I spent doing this work. They were pretty much my personal devotions with the Lord in my early Christian infancy, but I believe God used them to bring others to Christ, even though my style of writing and the complicated technicalities of the internet were all self-taught. I had no teacher but the Holy Spirit, and that's why God blessed my work, and to this day, I still love to write under my pen name of "Silent Witness:" Silent because I do not speak out loud, but a Witness to the wonderful grace of God for salvation.

Over the years, after the emails stopped, I had several websites, including a few blogs, and again, God used my writing talent to preach the Gospel and plead with others to be saved. I had four websites altogether: the first was "The Candle in the Window, The Light of the World," "Candle in the Window: My Poetry Site," and "The End of the World, Yet..." They were on AOL Hometown and Yahoo Geocities, respectfully, both of which are now defunct, but God allowed me to create a recent website by the same name which you can view here. This is my pride and joy, so to speak, but unfortunately I can't add to it because as I said, the technicalities are foreign to me. So I believe God opened the door to create this final website, and He closed it after He said it was finished.

All this said, I would encourage anyone who wants to serve God to start a blog or a website for His glory. I also strongly encourage passing out tracts and getting involved with a church's ministry, such as the choir or a Sunday School teacher. God has always blessed me with strong Christian influences who encouraged others to "reproduce God's children" by obeying what He commands them to do. I thank the Lord for Godly pastors who always use the King James Bible alone. I love being a Baptist, and I know God blesses me because He knows my heart.

Now for a warning. These days, there is a lot of corruption in the churches, and bibles, tracts and other writings and teachings have a tendency to lean towards Lordship Salvation and other false doctrines that require works plus faith to be saved. Chick tracts, for example, are fascinating and well written, and the illustrations are incredibly drawn, but unfortunately, on the back of every Chick tract, there is the vile Lordship Salvation requirement of "be willing to turn from your sins" to be saved. I used to love these tracts, but when I learned of that harmful addition to the plan of salvation on the back cover of each tract, I forsook Chick tracts forever. 

Jack Chick is an awesome writer and illustrator, but he is 100% wrong on that false point. He has everything else correct, but that one point is NOT a requirement to be saved and should not be there. He says there is only ONE WAY to Heaven, but he wrongfully adds works to the Gospel. So Mr. Chick is not of God, therefore Jesus Christ REJECTS his tracts.

Here is Acts 17:30 that he alludes to "be willing to turn from sins (repent)..."

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Repentance in this context means to CHANGE YOUR MIND, NOT your life. This weak use of Scripture is what Mr. Chick hangs on to in order to get people to believe that works are required for salvation. You don't have to BE WILLING, you must BELIEVE ONLY! The ONLY work we must do to be saved is BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, which is by believing the Gospel: the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)

John 6:28, 29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Galatians 5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

The Bible says a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump, which means once a lie has taken root in a certain doctrine, the whole doctrine is poisoned. God will not use corrupt works from anyone, but He rejects them because they lead people to Hell instead of Heaven. Even though wrong is right these days, and these fraudulent people, Mr. Chick included, are reaping the ways of the world, God rejects them and their self-righteous works. Even though they stick the label of "Christian" on their works, Jesus will say He never knew them. This is why I stress and use the King James Bible ONLY as what it is, the true Word of God, not the other PERversions like the NIV, NASB, NLT, ESV etc. which teach works salvation and omit and add to Scripture, and are therefore corrupt and worthless.

Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

In conclusion, obeying God is the way to live. Fearing God will take care of all other fears and worries. Trusting God is pleasing to Him and allows Him to bless our life. These things have I done all these years, and though I may not always "feel like it," I do it anyway, because I want God to be pleased with my life. 

I hate to think of the loss and tears of those who pretended to be Christians but in reality were not saved. How terrible for them! USE THE KING JAMES BIBLE! That is the ONLY way to please the Lord.
