16. Praise the Lord
I try to make it a habit of praising the Lord each day that He allows me to wake up in the morning. I thank Him for keeping me alive another day to serve Him. It's always a rewarding experience to praise and worship God, if you do it the Bible way.
As Christians we also ought to praise God in the midst of trials, because sometimes He allows them to come into our life. We ought to praise Him because He already knows the outcome of these life issues, and if we trust in Him to get us through, we will have reason to praise Him. If we praise God in the midst of the valley, we will all the more have reason to praise Him on the mountain.
A born again Christian doesn't live a life of ease, as some may wrongly assume. Their life is better because Jesus is always by their side. The lost do not have that assurance. That's why they're called "lost," as sheep are lost without a shepherd. I was lost, but now I'm found. Jesus Christ saved my soul from Hell, so now I don't have to fear anything or anyone. He took my punishment because He loved me enough to die for me. Praise God for His mercy towards me.
King David and a few other Godly men wrote these Psalms, but the 150th Psalm is a masterpiece of praise and worship to God as it should be done.
Psalm 150, the Psalter's Hymn Book
On the other hand, there are those who refuse to be saved because they don't want anything to do with Christ. They don't want Christ to reign over them, and they scoff at the Bible because they say it's a book of fairy tales. These people are woefully wrong and deceived by the Devil, because the Devil hates Jesus Christ and His children.
Some people just go along to get along, which is far worse, because that implies being a hypocrite, which Jesus condemned severely in Matthew 23:13-36 when He rebuked the self-righteous Pharisees.
Matthew 23: Jesus's rebuke towards hypocrites
That's a sad place to be, when you straddle the fence and try to look like a Christian, but your heart is not right before God. That is self-righteous lukewarmness. Jesus said in Revelation 3:15 and 16 that He would rather you be either cold or hot, but not in between. The Lord will judge such wicked people, both now and at the Judgment.
Revelation 3:15, 16 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Please don't be in this category. You must be born again if you want God's blessings and power on your life. What is the point of following the Devil? He will only lead you to Hell. Believe ON Jesus Christ and be saved.
